1. Nothing Works

1.1 Browser Support

This website requires JavaScript and HTML5 support to run. For the best possible experience, please use the newest version of Google Chrome, Internet Explorer or Firefox.

1.2 Language Support

We support all languages available in SWTOR for the purposes of uploading; however, the site is available in English only.

1.3 Errors

While I made every attempt to allow for "soft" error handling, I may not have foreseen every possible circumstance or combination of circumstances. I ask that you read through our help file first, but if you continue to experience errors, please contact us at help@torparse.com.

2. Upload Issues

2.1 Valid Combat Logs

Parsing is supported by all combat logs created after the 30 Mar 12 update to the PTS. Combat logs created before this date will fail to upload and are not supported.

2.2 Upload Never Finishes

Depending on the speed of your internet connection, it can take anywhere from 30 seconds to several minutes to upload a 20mb (max size) combat log. If you are uploading the maximum size allowed, please be sure to give the browser ample time to both upload and process the upload. After the file is successfully uploaded to our servers, it can take up to an additional 30 seconds to parse your combat log.

2.3 Default Location for Combat Logs on Your Computer

By default, combat logs are located under My Documents/Star Wars - The Old Republic/CombatLogs.

3. Analytical View

3.1 What is Analytical View?

This portion of our site allows you to view very specific details about your combat logs, including, but not limited to, Damage Dealt/Taken Stats, Healing Given/Taken Stats, and Death Reports.

3.2 What Does the @ Symbol Mean?

This is BioWare's designator that means that person is a real person. It is to help differentiate NPCs from PCs. One notable exception to this rule: player companions will show up as "@Player:Companion."

4. Log View

4.1 What is Log View?

This turns your combat log into a colorful, human-readable view. This option is available for the entire log and for each "fight" and "participant" in the Analytical View.

5. My Logs

5.1 What is My Logs?

This area of the site allows you to manage all of your combat logs and any group logs that you own. Simply click the "Manage" button to see available options when managing your logs.

6. Group Logs

6.1 What is Group Logs?

A group log is created when uploading a combat log. Once a group log is created, or a combat log is joined to the group, this view allows for you to see all the logs parsed together.

6.2 Common Issues with Parsing

Make sure that all of these are correct if your group is not parsing correctly: Timezone for each user is set correctly (timezone of your computer, NOT of server), Time and Timezone are set correctly on the computer itself, Date is set correctly for each log. If all of these are correct and you are still encountering issues, please contact me for help.

6.3 Manage Group Log

The creator of the group log can manage the group log under "My Logs." You can delete and remove people from the group.

7. Statistics

7.1 What is Statistics?

Statistics are generated at least once daily. They are a compilation of all the boss fights uploaded to the website. The overall statistics include all boss fights, while each individual boss and mode have only their associated fights ranked.

7.2 I Should be Ranked, but I'm not

First, be sure that you are looking in the correct area. For example, a successful kill of a boss is ranked separately from an unsuccessful kill. These are annotated as "kills" and "deaths" on the Statistics pages. Secondly, be sure you are looking at the correct boss and mode of the instance (i.e. 8-man HM/NM vs 8-man SM). If you still can't find your log ranked, please e-mail me at feedback@torparse.com.

7.3 I See Ridiculously High Numbers on the Leaderboards!

Due to the nature of the way combat logs are generated by the game, it is possible for someone to spoof a combat log or change numbers to put them on top of the leaderboard. If you suspect someone of this, please e-mail me at feedback@torparse.com.

8. User Accounts

8.1 Password Help

An option to reset your password has been provided. Simply click "Login or Register" in the upper right corner of your browser. A window will appear in the middle of your screen. Now select the "Forgot Password" tab, type in the e-mail you used to register on the site, and submit. You will receive an e-mail with instructions on how to reset your password. If you don't remember the e-mail you used or never receive the instructional e-mail for resetting your password, feel free to contact me at help@torparse.com for more help.

8.2 My Account was Banned!

If you feel your account was wrongly banned, please email me at help@torparse.com for more help. Account bans are rare on the site and likely a result of uploading fake combat logs.

9. Ingame Client

9.1 What is the Ingame Client?

The TORParse Ingame Client gives you the ability to view your combat log data in near real time. As you are likely aware, SWTOR outputs your combat log data into a text file. You, however, may not know that it does not immediately output this information to the text file, but it does it in small batches every couple seconds. The ingame client monitors this information output by the game and parses the information into numbers, data and graphs in as close to real time as possible. Due to the nature of the way the game outputs information to the text file, you can expect the data you are seeing in the ingame client to be slightly delayed.

9.2 Will my SWTOR account get banned for using this application?

First understand that I have absolutely no affiliation with BioWare or EA and cannot speak for them in any capacity. With that said though, you can feel at ease using this application. The application does not interact directly with the SWTOR client in any way. There is no code injection or "hacking" into the game files to gain access to combat log data. The ingame client simply monitors changes to a combat log text file, and that's it.

9.3 Fatal Error

If you experience this error when loading the client, this means that the application does not have sufficient privileges to create or save information onto your computer. To troubleshoot this issue, be sure that you have the latest version of Adobe AIR installed, you are not running on a restricted access Windows user account, and that you have not restricted Adobe Flash storage settings (accessible in your Control Panel). If you continue to experience the problem, please contact me using the contact information at the top of this help page.

9.4 Windows Time Sync

If you receive this warning when logging into the client, this means the time of your computer is significantly different than that of the server. This may give you problems when utilizing the group parsing feature of the application. To correct this problem, Windows offers an Internet Time function that syncs your time to official time servers. To access this option, go to your Windows Control Panel, click "Clock, Language, and Region", and click "Set the time and date". A "Date and Time" box will open. On the top of the box, you will notice a row of tabs and one will be labeled "Internet Time". Click this tab. Click the button "Change settings" and ensure that your computer is synchronizing with an Internet time server. I personally recommend one of the nist.gov time servers. Once you have selected one, click the "Update Now" button and then click "OK". You will need to restart your SWTOR and TORParse clients.
